Hello!!!!!
Ok... I know I haven’t written in a very long time but have been very busy with uni and Christmas and all of that! Basically I am back in Portugal!! Very quickly my life since the last post…. Work…. Work…. Work…some fun…. Work…fun…fun…work…. So not very fair! I finished my first term, did a campaign for the public libraries (hopefully a really good one!) and a speech in favour of ID Cards (a really good one I hope!), got the plane and came home to relax!
Ho.. Before I forget MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!! BOM NATAL!!!!!!! FELIZ NAVIDAD!!!!!! I hope all of you (the hundreds of millions of people that read this blog) have a really really nice, cosy and warm Christmas, one of those that make you all fuzzy inside! J
I’m staying in Portugal until the 28th of December and then I’m going back to England for New Years, hoo and Silvia and Pedro are coming as well!!!! How exciting! It’s not everyday I have friends from Portugal to visit my other life! So should be really good fun! WEEEEEEE…..
Portugal is treating me well, I like being here, everything is relaxed and chilled out and its really good come back home and see all my family and friends…. In England everyone is doing well! I heard Gemma broke her wrist on the first day of snowboarding (sounds like someone I know!!) and Jay Jay hurt his knee dancing last week and now needs surgery… poor Jay Jay I hope you feel better soon!! J
Little Baby Bobbie is still in Bournemouth working and I miss him so much… it is a big big difference going from living with someone, sharing the same room and everything to not see him at all for 2 weeks… I don’t like it!!! L I want my baby here… its ok though it is only 2 weeks and then he has till the third off so we can spend lots of time together! J
Well… there’s not much to say… IT IS FREEZING in this country and I need to go to my bed to be warm…. I don’t know what it is about this cold, its awful!
Love you all lots and I shall keep in contact, until then, behave! J

Let’s smarten up shall we? (Part I)
The Internet
Internet seems to be everywhere. Because of my interactive media strategies unit I am forced to stop and think about all the changes in the last couple of years in relation to society’s habits and needs.
Nowadays we take the internet for granted. We need to find information on how Russians drink Vodka and not gin we look it up. Need to find out why penguins are identical to humans when it comes to mating and “raising” their cups? Google it and you will find the answer. Gosh… even the word google is now a verb, adjective, noun…. What has the world come to?
I was reading an interesting article today (even though not entirely convinced of its veracity) that Google beat Channel4 in terms of ad revenue this year. How could we actually believe a couple of years ago that a search engine would actually surpass one of the biggest TV broadcasters in the UK in terms of ad revenue? The truth is: we would not. Some might argue it’s because the internet if the future of advertising and the only way to reach the consumer with relevant and personal information. In my opinion it is just a buzz that will eventually calm down. Let’s be real: the 8” TV spot will never die…even with TIVO and Sky+ people will always have TV adverts. Maybe they will loose on impact and the prices will have to come down, maybe they will not be seen anymore as the main form of advertising but I don’t believe they will one day die forever.
The internet does allow for a lot of interaction with the consumer…just the mere thought of having the consumer searching for the advertising is fascinating and so tempting that I can’t help but smile.
The way I see it the internet brings lots of advantages to the society, not just as individuals but also as consumers, social beings and much more. We are now closer to everyone; we don’t need to have 3000 encyclopaedias because with a touch of a finger we can access pretty much everything. We have the right of free speech and access to information we are actually using it now, with blogs, wikis, my space. We can keep in touch with those far away and manage our friends and times like never before. We can be alone without ever being lonely. That has to be good right?
Not necessarily…. We now know someone from the other side of the globe better then we know our next door neighbour. We don’t trust anyone to the point Americans bother to advertise things like the billboard below.

We suspect of everyone but we somehow believe that we can trust everyone just because we are safe behind a computer screen.
Sites like second life are inundating our society… for those of you that haven’t been there I advise you to go and try it on, it is a quite scary social experience but at the same time fascinating and one can’t help but think what has society come to that we actually actively choose to “go out and socialise” virtually rather than going out and talk to real people that you can touch and see. We can be a much more “people” society but we are certainly not a real flesh one. I remember a couple of years ago talking to someone and imagining how cool it would be having a TV programme where someone had to survive for 3 months without living their home. Well… now you need to convince yourself it is really needed to leave your house because you can have literally everything delivered to your door….groceries, clothes, films, friends………
Is the internet just another fad that on a couple of years will go away? Doubtfully… in my opinion it will settle down into just another medium with great potential just like TV and radio, with its strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and drawbacks.
Feel free to comment…. After all that’s the whole point of a discussion and will, once more, demonstrate the great power of the internet.

Ho my god, check the link above, because it is seriously cool to see.... (Sorry, I am a bit sad sometimes.. hehe, cant help it though!!)
Hello! Right, so I am ill, bored, in my bed for the last 4 days and have I mentioned bored??!
Got a cold that’s it but Baby is at work, and the girls at uni and i cant be bother to cough anymore but cant help it... ho well! Hopefully be better in a couple of days!
So, handed in my Form A today! For those of you that dont really know what the Form A is, it is my dissertation proposal that needs to be approved in order for me to do it...
So, I bet you are all really curious to know what my dissy is going to be about, so here you go: It is going to be about Advertiser Funded Programming and how does this affect consumer-brand relationship, focusing on the mobile network industry. Taramm!!!!! Im sure you will hear a lot about this, you dont have to but I dont think ill be able to stop myself from talking about it! ....
But for now, let’s just talk about the normal stuff! Silvia emailed me the other day; it was really nice to hear from her! I was quite surprised because I don’t really talk to anyone from Portugal (each day less and less unfortunately) and getting an email from her was really really nice. So cheers Sissi!!! :)
The weather here is awful, raining all the time and cold and all that… And we are having a problem in our house with flies! You should see the amount of flies there is in this house! It's because of the insane amount of rubbish we have but because of this recycling malarkey it is really hard to get rid of everything. We do need to go to the tip, but no one has been bothered! I would go, but Tom needs the car every day... HOOOOO, have I told you lot that I drive now? Not just once in a while I proper drive places, by myself and stuff.... it's like normal for me to drive in this country! I love it and it doesn’t confuse me anymore! weeee!!!!
This weekend was a bit boring, was ill so stayed in the whole time! Tom went out on Saturday with his workmates and Jess went out with the girls so I stayed home alone, so.... me being random and weird decided to watch the Exorcism of Emily Rose by myself at 1 am..... it was really scary but not too much I thought. It was quite an interesting story; especially because it is based on true events it makes you wonder doesn’t it? And speaking about movies I watched 16 Blocks yesterday, really good movie!
And its my 2 year Anniversary with Baby next week! Can you imagine 2 years?? It sounds crazy but I have been very happy this two years and I’m sure I will be for a very long time with little Tom Tom. :P
Right... think im gonna go now.... Im going to organise my entire dissertation stuff today and try to fix my printer. After that Im watching a movie and relaxing! (Good thing about being ill... you can do whatever you want!! hehe)
Love you lots Dudes and Dudettes!!! Take care and behave now... XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Sara's little corner
Hello everyone!
I know I haven’t written in a while but I have been busy with just getting ready for uni and all that and settling in my new house with everyone else!
So how am I??? Really really good! Uni is starting to be busy and yesterday went to bed at 4h30 doing an assignment (I know!! It started already grrrrr) but it was alright! Julia came over and we did it together which helped to work through the boredom.
I am starting to be quite stressed with Uni and dissertation, which is not good considering the work load is still quite small but just the thought of it makes me anxious! Anyway… moving on to better things!
I joined the gym at Stokewood and I do Yoga now every Wednesday and total body on Tuesdays and Urban Funk on Fridays! So trying to get fit! Jess goes with me which is nice and we also get the pool and the sauna and the gym all for £170! That is the whole year included! Bargain!
The house is amazing… I abs love it! Love the people, couldn’t have lived with a better bunch of people. Went on a little shopping trip last weekend to Makro and bought loads and loads of stuff, including 30Kg of onions and 10Kg of potatoes for everyone! Lol, we were literally in heaven in that place! So much stuff!!!!
And this weekend is Rob’s birthday, on Friday and Jess’s parents and boyfriend are coming down for it which will be really good fun! Will get very drunk im sure! Hooo… speaking of which, Monday we all went to Locos Tapas for some cheeky drinks…. We got sooooo drunk! We started playing this drinking game called ring of fire, dunno if you know it but basically you play it with a deck of cards all on a table forming a ring, facing down. And then each card has a different meaning like :
1-6 you drink the amount of seconds. If it is a red card you have to drink it, if its black you nominate someone else to drink it for you.
If it’s a 7 you have to say a line from a song, whoever gets it first everyone else has to drink. And the 8 works the same way but with movies.
The 9 is the thumb rule and the person gets to keep the card until another nine comes out. The 10 is the freezing card and works just like the 9.
The Jack is the waterfall, queen everyone drinks to the queen, king makes up a rule and Ace you have to down your glass.
So yeah… as you can imagine we got very very drunk and then we stole a street sign that said “Humps for 250 yards” hehe we thought it was funny! J
So yeah, I have been having a good time! Hooo, a warning for everyone out there that reads my blog! In a couple of weeks you will notice some differences on the content of this blog mainly because I will be using it for my Interactive Media Strategies unit as a course requirement, So … I need to have a blog and write about interactive media subjects. I would really appreciate if you have any opinions to write some comments on it and we can hopefully get some good ideas out.
Right.. that is it. I need to go now and make dinner for me and baby. We are hungry and we are playing Cluedo tonight! J
Love you lots XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXx

Life is a rollercoaster
Back to England
Hello everyone!!!
As you probably know by now I am back in the UK for another year! I got here yesterday from Portugal, was travelling from 10h a.m. to 18h30... it was painful but it feels really nice to be back here!
My journey was boring as hell but at the airport it was really cool! Ok... so I always fly with Monarch and I have a membership card and everything. So yesterday there was a ridiculous huge queue (an hour’s worth). So I went up to the lady and asked if there was a queue for members and she said “If you are a monarch member you can come right through”.
So I did and it took me 5 minutes! Plus…. I had an extra 5Kg in luggage weight and my suitcase got priority handling! Hooo…and extra leg space on the plane!!! It was amazing and that’s why I always fly with Monarch. On my flight I was sitting next to this “too posh to handle” mother and son so I just slept the whole flight. I then landed in Gatwick at 12h45 and my bus was at 14h45 so had a coffee and a couple of cigarettes and waited for my bus. Then it finally got there and I sat on that bus from 14h45 till 18h30…. I couldn’t even feel my legs! But Tombo was waiting for me at the station which was really nice. Then we came home and ate fajitas for dinner and talked (we had a lot of catch up to do)!
So how was my time in Portugal?! Best word to describe it: weird but somehow good. It started like shit, then it went from awful to great and then up and down until I left yesterday. I was surprised by a lot of people and realized how good some of my friends are at the same time I was disappointed by others and managed to even make new friends and got together with people I haven't seen in ages.
In sum it was a friends’ rollercoaster this summer that turned out to be ok. I learned a lot of things with it and in some way I grew up a lot.
As Gemma would put it: once in a while you have to do a little spring cleaning to your life. Throw away stuff you don't need anymore and tidy it a bit. That's what I did!
But that doesn't matter anymore because now I’m at a new stage of my life!!! :) I'm in my new house and I love it!
This year I am officially living with my Baby, sharing the room and there are loads of stuff to do! So today I’m going to unpack and organise the house...
Also need to go into Winton to buy some stuff and going to locus's for a job!!!! Please please Tom give me a job!!!! :)
Jay Jay gets here today for the weekend and on Saturday Jess's parents and bro are coming as well! It's going to be amazing!!! I miss them all so much!
Right, so I’m going to stop writing about what I have to do and actually go and do it! Portugal I will miss you very much! See you in December.... and for everyone there vou ter saudades!!!!
Dudes and Dudettes have fun and enjoy the rest of the holidays (or not)! I'll keep in touch!

Love you all,

Me and Portugal!
I haven't written in so long! For that I apologise! ..... well, as you might have guessed I am now in Portugal on holiday! Lovin' it!!!!
I have been here for 3 weeks now and it is so nice to be back... home is a very special place and you know when you found it. In my case I guess I was lucky and I now have two places I can call home- Portugal and England. Sometimes its hard to get your things straight and not mix them but I know I can always return to either one and be happy, so I can't complaint....
Life in Portugal has been treating me well.... obviously is hard in the beginning and my first couple of days in Lisbon were weird and complicated (full of unfinished businesses) and now feel like a distant past that I can't really remember... but I have built my bridge (or still trying to) and gotten over it.
I guess in a way it is really hard to keep track of everyone and keep in touch specially when half of your life is in one country and the other half so far away… it is easy to just hide on one side and not care anymore. In my case I always have to come back to one of those sides and face my life….I guess is the price you pay when you chose to leave the place you were born and grew up in. A price I always knew I had to pay but so low comparing to all the good things that come with it.
Portugal will always have a very special place in my hearth and every time I come back I get that reassurance, one way or the other. This time it was in the Island. I had an amazing time there and my little bubble” did wonders for me. I relaxed, I laughed, I got drunk (one too many times) and left feeling like a new person. Now I am back to reality and I am ready to face it. Like therapy…. In a way!
Tom came to visit me, we had an amazing time, once again he proved to be everything I always wanted in a boyfriend and everyone loved him. Sometimes I think I am just a bit too lucky and one day everything will just collapse on top of me… but for now I will just enjoy my happiness and put all the sadness on the back of my head.
Im sorry if I am being too philosophical today… I haven’t mentioned it yet but I am a bit ill at the moment and today started on antibiotic and these allergy pills that make me sooooo sleepy!!!!! So right now im a bit drugged and not thinking right, slept all day and need to take my next pill now! So in a little bit I will be sleepy and drugged again and might not make sense anymore!” Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
Now I am staying in Portugal until the 20th of September… it is still a long time and not sure what I will do. I though about going to a youth hostel for ¾ days by myself as I have never been away alone but never mind, not happening. Instead I am going with my sister, and Silvia and maybe two other friends! So that might be fun! I am also going to start my dissertation reading… I have so much to read it’s not even funny… so you might see me in CCB a lot now just reading and reading…. How fun
Right people, I can feel my pill kicking in and I am feeling sleepy and confused so need to go to bed! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…….
Love you all lots and I will keep you posted as soon as possible about my life!
Yours always,
Sara C.

Last day in England
Good Morning everyone! :)
I cannot believe it is 8h30 in the morning and I am up already! Couldnt sleep very well tonight, don't know why but it is probably one of the worst days not to sleep considering I am not getting any sleep tonight! Ho well.... I'll live :)
So, today is my last day in Bournemouth and tomorrow ill be in sunny Portugal! weee, going to the beach and all that! But first of all, as soon as I get there I am cutting my hair!! Lol, gotta get your priorities sorted right? ;)
I have sooo much to do here in Bournemouth, lots to pack and clean before I go, specially because next year I'm going to be living with Tom it will be twice all the things and we need to get rid of most of it! hate throwing things away! So today I need to go to the dump, and to town to buy some last minute stuff! Tom left me the car today so I can do everything quicker, otherwise I wouldn't have time for anything! bahhhhhhhh Moving houses is not fun, I am not a fan!
Hoo, in case you are all wondering! the live ad was sooooo cool! I didn't know if you guys saw it on TV ( I didn't unfortunately) but from the studio it looked very cool! And the afterparty was very good as well, they had this amazing chocolate fountain in the middle of the room, with strawberries and marshmallows and all kinds of fruit and scones... ahhhhhh it was just to die for!!!! And of course all the alcohol was free as well, so that helped! lol
Right, I think I might try to get a bit more sleep, maybe just snooze for a bit and then got to get moving!!! :(
Love you all and I will try to keep you posted while in Portugal! :)

I cannot believe it is Friday already, and my last day at work! Time just decided to go really quicklyand I didn't have time to grab it! Where is it?!
Well, if I look back now I did have a really good time and enjoyed both placements. Splendid was a good place to start, it allowed me to interact with lots of people and learn one thing or two about PR. If anything it was good to know I don't really like PR and it's a path I don't want to take in future. Lesson Learned, lest move on!
So then we had Monkey which was really good fun! in terms of doing stuff I was far less busy but somehow managed to learn so much more about a world that I do want to be part of. I loved it! got drunk with clients, went for lunches with them the next day and stressed about last minute changes with them! It was good, met lots of good people to know (networking baby!) and I think it was very good for me in all aspects!
So now its time to leave... with a T-shirt and a gift voucher here I go to my next adventure! Ho... if you read this and you are English please please watch Love Island on Sunday on ITV! Because the project I have been working on its going to happen that night! And while you watch it on tv I will be right there in the studios with the producer and the people making it! And that's when the Magic happens! I love it! :) So yeah, watch it if you can! it is going to be really good fun to watch! :) You can even let me know what you thought of it afterwards! (the wonders on the internet!!)
Today I also felt really really special... I was feeling a bit down yesterday and sad and my boyfriend Tom being the cutest person he is decided to send me flowers to the office to congratulate me on finishing my placement! So I had red roses delivered to my desk (never had flowers delivered to me ever!!) it felt really nice just knowing that someone cares for you that much and values you as a person! it was an important time of my life these last 2 months and I can only thank him for being there with me! :)
Monday I go back to Bournemouth, I might update you then about my life but prob I will only do it in Portugal now... let's see how things go over there... I cannot wait to see my family and friends, I do miss them very much and it always feels really nice to go back to my roots! :) And after that I am going to the Island... I would talk about it but you know what? I don't want to... its my secret place (well.. its our secret place... of the people that go there and truly understand its beauty) and I want to keep it that way... :)
Right, think im gonna go, need to finish up some things here and then say goodbye to everyone! My last day.... the beginning of something else! :)
Goodbye Dudes and Dudettes... Sorry if today I was a bit more emotional, but it is an emotional time so there you go! :) Behave!

Sara's little corner
Hello!!
Weekend has just finished and another week lies ahead. And this is my last week at work.. I am sad but at the same time quite excited about now having to work everyday or wake up early to come to work! Apart from that I don't have any complaints! :)
Weekend was good, very very good actually! Friday went with Tom to buy a car and he is now the proud owner of a Peugeot 306 1.9 Diesel! lol It was cool and after that we went to celebrate with a meal. Saturday was Jay Jay's birthday party and we went to the Blue Bird! Very posh and nice, really nice food and the atmosphere was amazing! We felt very important for the night! hehe and after that we went to Floradita... nice place but the air conditioner was broken so it was too hot in there and we left after a bit! Overall was very good night and that's all it matters! :)
Sunday I went to Hapton Court with Tommy Boy, it was a funny day: we got lost and took us hours to get to Hampton Court, but somehow it worked out quite nicely and we had fun. When we got there we went to the Maze and got lost but we then got to the center and back!
How have you all been? Hope good... Next weekend is the big one and after that I go back to Bournemouth and then Portugal! weeeeeee
Right, going back to work now... need to make the most of it as it is my last week!!!

Have a good weekend!
Hello Hello again!
Thought of the day: "don't waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind...The race is long, and in the end its only with yourself."
Cool website to have some fun: http://www.subservientchicken.com
Ad of the week: http://www.alittlebitrude.co.uk/
It is now Friday and another week gone. The week was good but don't know why some things that pissed me off! lol.. I don't know if you agree but I am getting a bit fed up with everyone trying to personalize everything for your needs... yesterday went to get my morning expresso (lovely place in Camden with Segafredo cafe!!!) and before I could get my expresso the lady asked my 8 different questions.. from where are you going to sit to how many sugars do you take.... and when I finally sat down at my table (yes, I didn't want take away, I was sitting outside, a single not a double, wanted two sugars, glass of water.. Yes with ice and yes I smoke so need an ashtray and yes I would love it if the lady could bring the coffee to my table) I realised that I just went tru a lot of trouble just to get an expresso! ho well....
I also tried to walk a different direction to work today... all week I have been thinking there is an easier way to get to work, so today left a bit earlier and decided to adventure myself on a different route... just to realise that 5 minutes later I was as lost as it gets and instead of the usual 10 minutes to get to work it took me 20! At least now I know I am walking the quickest way! lol... ho well....
This weekend is going to be good, today little Tom is coming up to meet me and we are going to see a couple of cars... Peugeot 306 1.9 d turbo diesel! (yeah, I am getting an expert) and he really wants to buy it this weekend so we'll see what happens! and then after all the cars we'll see we are planning on having a nice meal in central London and go for a very romantic walk near the Thames... This is why I love London... The opportunities are endless and there is always so much to do and see that you are never bored...
And then tomorrow its Jay's b-day, so we are going to lovely and amazing Richmond for a picnic(if the weather allows it) and then out at night! It will be a fun night and hopefully will get a bit drunk as well! the joys of being a student!!! ;)
And next week is my last week at work! quite sad actually, but I'm looking forward not to work every day and coming back to sunny Portugal! Just for future reference I arrive on the 10th of August early in the morning so.... PESSOAL, liguem-me, digam qualquer coisa porke eu tou cheia de saudades!!!!
But before that I have a lot to do in my house.... I just realised at the moment I have 3 different addresses.. Bournemouth, London and Portugal! so need to move back to Bournemouth first and then I have 3 days to pack everything again to move out of Freddie house and on to Ozzie house! Freddie will be missed!
Right... and that's it for now... Have a lovely weekend everyone and I shall see you here on Monday for my update about the weekend!

I can see clearly now the rain is gone...
The weekend just ended and another week ahead of us. Had a pretty good Monday.. had a meeting in the morning and another one in the afternoon so time is flying by!
Weekend was very very good... Was in Bournemouth and just relaxed! Got absolutely wrenched on Saturday... went to the shops at about 10h30 and by 11h the whole sky turned black and it felt like it was 22h and all of a sudden there was the biggest thunderstorm ever! So there I was on a t-shirt and a skirt soaking wet.... then I tried to walk home but the thunders were so strong that all the alarms in the cars started going off scaring the shit out of me!
So I decided to go to our local pub/bar/restaurant to have a coffee and wait for the storm to finish!...10 minutes later Tom and Jay Jay came to join me and one coffee led to another (not necessarily coffee) and we ended up having dinner there and so on! (we even enjoyed the Happy Hour).
In case you guys don't know this place if you do come down to Bournemouth please visit Loco's Tapas (in Winton) as it is such a nice place to have a drink and grab some food. Staff is five star as well! (specially if they give me a job next year... coff.. coff)
So Saturday was fun and Sunday was good but short as I had to come back to London at 16h45.. Leaving my patutes all alone in Bournemouth for another week! :(
Anyway... this week is looking pretty good and this weekend everyone is coming to London for a smashing (and expensive) night out! So that should be fun, and it is Jay's b-day and we bought him the best gift ever (for him anyway) I will tell you later once he has open it (don't want to ruin any suprises)....
Thank you for my one and only comment Ze! Much appreciated! :) You just won the award for best comment of the weekend! ;)
Right dudes and dudettes! Have a good week... I will write again at the end of the week to keep you posted! (not that you care... but I like it!)

P.s. Not sure if I should write in english or portuguese.... any suggestions?!

Hello and welcome!
This is my first post in my new blog.
Let's get the introduction out of the way!
I'm Sara and I am Portuguese (football fans out there, don't run away just now) I am currently living in the UK at university- Bournemouth. I am doing an advertising and marketing communications degree and right now I am on my Placement in London! :)
I don't even know why I am doing this blog...guess I am just bored at work and decided to create one of those things that everyone else is talking about! :)
I'm not really sure how it works...
I'm spending this weekend in Bournemouth with my lovely adorable boyfriend- Tom. (I hate saying boyfriend anyway....) don't have many plans for the weekend as I am broke (working for free is not easy!!!) but i'm sure it will be lovely! :)
Right... anyway.. going now!
I don't even know if people can write on my blog, but if you can go ahead and amuse me! Just imagine how exciting it would be getting to work on Monday and see that people actually read this.... it is such a small world with this Internet malarchy! :)
Anywho... XXX and Have a good weekend all of you bored people at work! It's FRIDAY!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEE
